FCWT Junior Golf Tournament: Mission Hills Pete Dye Final Round

Tournament golf differs from a lot of other sports. Most of the time junior golfers do not play as a team in junior golf tournaments. Usually they see themselves as competing against the field, and granted, they do. However, those who take their game to the next level, often recognize that they are really playing the golf course. They are trying to see how low they can go against the formidable foe and its army of adversaries: weather, bunkers, hazards, just to name a few.

On Sunday, one young man took the challenge and demonstrated that his game is going to the next level. Two years later he won 5 times and was named the Player of Promise at the end of the season awards banquet. Last season he moved up to the 13-15 division, had eight Top 5 finishes and a win during the regular season. This season, he won at Cog Hill and then again at ASU. On Sunday, he add the Mission Hills title to his list, and he did so in telling fashion. David led the division in birdies with 6, pars with 25, and fired the Low Round on Sunday of 68 which not only distanced him from the field, but showed the level to which his game has risen. Snyder, like Tyler Moore (T6 in Boys 16-18), is a name to watch for the future.  Tim de Silva of Palos Verdes Estates, CA (2014) finished in 2nd place while Harrison Lee of South Korea (2017) and Eddie Wajda III of Brookfield, WI (2014) finished in a tie for third.
