The Boys 16-19 division was led by Ben Albin after Saturday’s Round One. Ben, a sophomore from Santa Fe, NM, fired an opening round of one under par. The 16-year-old was playing in his fifth FCWT season-ending Championship. On Sunday, Camilo Mexsen of Gomez Palacio, MEXICO (2016) fired a round of 69 to take over the lead. At the end of 36-holes of play the Boys 16-19 division was cut from 160 players to 70 and ties. Monday’s final round proved difficult with the continued windy conditions. Erick Alonso of Haworth, NJ (2014) fired a two under par 70 to earn the Low Round Honors and finish tied for 4th. The second best score on Monday was from Tony Jiang of Lake Mary (2016). Jiang posted a one under par and finished T11. Won Jun Lee of Seoul, South Korea (2017) also posted a one under par which allowed the 14-year-old to finish tied for 7th. But the top honors went to Ryoto Furuya of Guam (2016). Ryoto had a final round of even par after two consecutive rounds of 73, allowing him to finish at 218 for the tournament and five shots ahead of David Snyder of McAllen, TX (2016) and Cristian DiMarco of Longwood, FL (2014). Second Round leader, Camilo Mexsen, finished tied for 4th with Haworth and Robin Wang of Lake Mary, FL (2017).

Fazio Course

The 2013 FCWT Tour Championship is now in the books. Though the field did not battle rain over the weekend as in some previous years, the winds played a significant factor, gusting 20 to 25 mph during each of the three rounds of play.

The Girls division, as well as the Boys 13-15 division and the Boys 11-13 division, played the 2013 Tour Championship on the newly renovated Fazio Course (previously the Haig) at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Dylan Kim of Winter Garden, FL (2015), who was named the FCWT Girls Player of the Year for the East Region on Friday night at the Tour’s Annual Awards dinner, took the first round lead on Saturday with a round of 74. On Sunday, Miss Kim held her lead by posting a second consecutive round of 74. In Monday’s final round, Miss Kim, who won five times during the regular season, fired a one under par 71 to win by seven shots over Yuanru Yin of China (2016). Miss Kim led the Girls division in pars for the tournament with 40 for 54 holes. Miss Yin, who earned her third Top 2 finish of the season at the Championship, led the Girls division in birdies with 7. Miss Yin was also named the Girls 2nd team All-FCWT on Friday night for her win at Metro West and her 2nd place finish at World Woods. Finishing in third place was Luiza Altmann of Brazil (2016). Miss Altmann won twice during the regular season: World Woods and Saddlebrook. Radi Sauro of Lake Worth, FL (2014), carded the only eagle in the girls division for the tournament, and finished in 4th place. Annika Espino of Honolulu, HI (2016) and Chelsea Dantonoi of Lancaster, NY (2015) finished tied for 5th.

The Boys 13-15 division saw much more movement at the top of their leaderboard over the course of the weekend. After Saturday’s opening round Daulet Tuleubayev of Kazakhstan (2017) led by two strokes. Tuleubayev won the FCWT at Red Tail in March. On Sunday, Jake Holt of Palm Beach, FL (2016) carded a round of one over par 73 to move into a tie with Daulet for the lead. Daulet and Jake entered the final round with a one shot advantage over Sachin Kumar of Trinidad & Tobago (2017). Fourteen-year-old Kumar entered the Championship having won the Inverrary tournament at the 13-15 level and finishing T14 overall at Inverrary. On Monday, Sachin posted the Low Round in the Boys 13-15 division, a 73, and won by three shots over Jake Holt who finished at 226. Jorge Villar of Mexico (2017) finished in 3rd at 227. Round One leader Daulet finished at 229 and in 4th place, followed by M. Tyler Carlson of Los Angeles, CA (2017) at 230 and in 5th. Kyle Morris of San Jose, CA (2015) carded the only eagle for the tournament in this division. During Monday’s final round Kyle made a 2 on the par 4, 3rd hole. Thomas Alkins of Canada (2017) led the Boys 13-15 division in birdies with 10 for the tournament, while Sachin Kumar led in pars with 36.

In the Boys 11-13 division, Callum Davison of Canada (2018) took the first round lead with a round of 75 and continued to build on that lead through rounds two and three. Callum carded a round of even par on Sunday and finished with a 73 on Monday. His 220 total was 11 strokes better than second place finisher Carter Dalili of Vero Beach (2020). Dalili edged out Jake Kuwitzky of McKinney, TX (2018). Kuwitzky took 3rd place after making a run on Sunday with a 73, but Carter’s final round of 74 was enough to capture 2nd place all alone. Callum led the Boys 11-13 division in both birdies with 7 and pars with 37 for the 54-hole tournament. The 12-year-old had a perfect FCWT season, winning every tournament he entered.
