FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Kiawah 2002

The FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Kiawah 2002 took place January 18-21, 2002. Junior Golfers played 54-holes at the Kiawah Island – Ocean and Turtle Point Courses in Charleston, SC.

Mark Perry, the runner-up in the Boys 15-19 division, went on to play collegiate golf at the University of Virginia.  Raj Nahal, winner of the boys 13-14 division, went on to play collegiate golf at the University of South Florida.  Rebecca Kuhn, winner of the Girls division went on to play collegiate golf at LSU.

The FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Kiawah 2002 was one of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournaments on the 2001-2002 schedule.

In the Boys 15-19 division, Tripp Reynolds of Shelby, NC (2002) won by 2 shots. Tripp carded rounds of 73-76-73-222. Mary Perry of Atlanta, GA (2003) came on strong in Round Three with a 70. Perry finished in 2nd place at 224. Ivan Brannan of Panama City Beach, FL (2003) carded rounds of 74-77-75-226. Brannan finished in 3rd place.

John Saari of Lilburn, GA (2003) also made a move during Round Three. Saari finished with a solid round of 72. His 54-hole score of 227 earned 4th place. J.D. Bass of Fairview, NC (2003) fired a final round of 71. Bass earned 5th place at 228.

Bryan Rozier of Acworth, GA (2003) and Danny Zimmerman of Verona, WI (2004) finished in a tie for sixth place. Zimmerman fired a final round of 71.

Three junior golfers finished in a tie for 8th place. Aaron Kim of Clifton, VA (2003), Alex Knoll of Bethlehem, PA (2003) and Seiji Hirai of Hagerstown, MD (2003), all finished at 232.

Girls Division of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Kiawah 2002

In the Girls division, Rebecca Kuhn of Miami, FL (2004) fired a final round of 72 to win by 4 shots. Miss Kuhn posted rounds of 75-83-72 to finish at 230. Amber Prange of Noblesville, IN (2003) and Rachel Smith of Powell, TN (2003) finished in a tie for second place at 234.

Heather Rose of Chillicothe, OH (2003) earned fourth place at 237. Leah Wigger of Louisville, KY (2003) finished in fifth place at 242.

Boys 13-14 Division

Raj Nahal of Longwood, FL (2006) won the Boys 13-14 division of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Kiawah 2002. Raj carded rounds of 80-81-82-243. He finished 6 shots ahead of Justin Kim. Kim of Orlando, FL (2006) carded 81-87-81 to finish three strokes ahead of third place. Colby Price of Hendersonville, N (2005) came on strong doing the last round with an 81. Price finished in third place at 252.
