Kuest becomes 1st Boys 15-19 player to win twice
Peter Kuest of Fresno, CA (2016) was the early leader in the Boys 15-19 division during Saturday’s opening round of the FCWT Junior Golf Classic at Silverado Resort. Late in the day he saw that lead fall to Ryan Grauman of Alamo, CA (2018) who fired a 4-under-par opening round. On Sunday the junior golfers moved from the North Course to the South Course. Kuest, who won about a month ago at the FCWT Bayonet tournament, found his stride on the back nine on Sunday and rolled into the scoring area at 3 under par.
Peter’s first nine-holes were fairly run of the mill with 2 bogeys and 1 birdie allowing him to make the turn at 1 over par (36), but he got hot on the back nine and lit it up. Birdies on 10 and 11 took him to one-under-par. Then a par-bogey made it seem like it might just be an up-and-down back nine until he made par-birdie-birdie on 14, 15, 16. A par and a birdie on 17 and 18 respectively allowed him to finish 4-under-par for the back nine and 3 under for the day.
Sixteen-year-old Grauman had two bogeys on the front nine on numbers 1 and 3 which he redeemed with an eagle on #9 before making the turn. From there he made straight pars on the back nine to post a solid round of even par and finished just one back of Kuest.
Boys 12-14 Division
Fourteen-year-old Rajvir Bedi earned his second tournament win in the Boys 12-14 division of the FCWT Junior Golf Silverado 2016 Tournament on Sunday. Rajvir took the lead on Saturday when he carded an opening round of 76 on the North Course at the Silverado Resort in Napa Valley, CA. On Sunday the junior golfers headed to the South Course where Rajvir posted a 79 to win by 9 shots over
Austin Carnese of Portland (2019). Carnese led the division in birdies with 5 for the tournament, while Rajvir led in pars with 22.

Jordan Davis of Martinez, CA (2018) and Abbi Fleiner of Reno, NV (2019) matched Hailey White’s 3 birdies for the tournament. Miss White led the girls division in pars for the tournament with 24.
