Final Round of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Red Tail 2019

It was a close competition in the Boys 15-19 division of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Red Tail 2019. Jack O’Donnell of Cohasset, MA (2020) began the day with a one shot lead after an opening round of 69 on Saturday. The front nine was a back and forth contest between he and Andrew Giacchetto of Canton, MA (2019). They both made the turn at 36.

But Andrew made 4 birdies on the back nine to post a 34 while Jack carded another 36. It was just enough to give Andrew a one-shot victory over Jack. Both young men made birdie on the final hole.

Max Hutter

Max Hutter of Weston, MA (2021) moved up one spot on the leaderboard as well. He finished in 3rd place with a final round of 71 (-1).

Also Noteworthy

Weston Jones of Sudbury, MA (2021) moved up 6 spots and finished T5 with a final round of even par. John Broderick of Wellesley, MA (2022) zipped up the leaderboard with a final round of 69 (-3) that moved him up 18 spots to T7. Tyler Dupuis of Grafton, MA (2020) also fired a final round of 69 (-3) and moved up 28 spots to finish T11.

Khai Buttner of East Boston, MA (2020) and Jackson Lehner of Boston, MA (2021) both moved up 23 spots on Sunday with a final round of even par 72.

We mustn’t forget that spring is just beginning to make an appearance here in New England and many of these junior golfers are just starting to have the opportunity to play golf again after a long winter. It’s always great to see them get into the groove so quickly! Truly a fun final round to see scores improve so much for several good junior golfers.

Boys 12-14 Division

Adrian Curtis of Harvard, MA (2022) won the Boys 12-14 division with rounds of 77-74. Curtis made 4 birdies for the tournament and 22 pars. Alan Rose III of Weston, MA (2024) finished in 2nd place at 166 after two rounds of 83.

Gabrielle Shieh Wins Girls Division

In the Girls division of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Red Tail 2019, Gabrielle Shieh of Carlisle, MA (2020) led wire-to-wire. She carded rounds of 73-74 to win by 10 shots.

Anne Walsh of Jamaica Plain, MA (2020) finished in 2nd place at 157 Followed by Caroline Schernecker of Brookline, MA (2020) at 159.

Miss Shieh and Jacquelyn Stiles of Groton, MA (2019) each made 4 birdies for the tournament. Gabrielle also led in pars with 26.
