Round One of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Falcon’s Fire 2019

Jason Hsu fired an opening round of three-under-par 69 to take the lead in the Boys 15-19 division on Saturday. Hsu played the course at 36-33. He was bogey-free on the back nine and made only one bogey on the front nine, on number 6. Jason leads Simone Colozza of Rome, Italy (2019) by 2 shots.

Colozza also posted a sub-par round. He carded a 34-37-71. Simone made 4 birdies on Saturday and 10 pars. He leads a trio who are tied for 3rd place at 74.
Christian Munoz of Lima, Peru (2020) carded a 36-38-74. Javier Del Rio of Toluca, Mexico (2022) made a 38 on the front and then was even par on the back nine even with a double bogey on the 15th. Guangyang Ren of Shenzhen, China (2019) carded 37-37-74. He also had 3 birdies for his opening round at the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Falcon’s Fire 2019.

Boys 12-14 division

In the Boys 12-14 division, Elias Tamer Simon of Veracruz, Mexico (2023) leads by three shots. Simon posted an opening round of 78. He led the Boys 12-14 division in pars with 18. Feanor Valaquenta of Bradenton, FL (2022) is only three shots back. He carded the only eagle in the Boys 12-14 division and posted an 81. Angel Lamuno of Pueblo, Mexico (2022) is at 85 and Sebastian Navarro of Winter Garden, FL (2024) is at 87.

Girls Division

We have co-leaders in the Girls division of the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament Falcon’s Fire 2019. Miriam Ayora of Barcelona, Spain (2020) and Ashley Chow of Toronto, ON, Canada (2020) each fired an opening round of 71. Ashley shot 34-37 with 5 birdies on Saturday while Miriam posted 35-36 and three birdies. Both junior golfers are one-under-par heading into Sunday’s final round. Greer Valaquenta of Bradenton, FL, will start in third place at 74. Greer carded 37-37 with 5 birdies for her round.
