The Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) conducts junior golf tournaments for ages 9-19 across the United States. The majority of our junior golf tournaments take place during the fall, winter and spring. This allows junior golfers to play in conditions similar to college golf. FCWT Junior golfers also learn to balance the demands of schoolwork and golf.
History of FCWT Junior Golf Tournaments
The Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) has been conducting junior golf tournaments across the United States since 1996. In 1996 there were very few options for fall, winter and spring junior golf tournaments. The FCWT’s Founder, Jack Hopson, wanted to change that. He wanted to give junior golfers the opportunity to showcase their talent at venues outside the traditional summer schedule. Additionally, he wanted to provide junior golfers the opportunity to play on a variety of golf courses. The FCWT continues to run quality junior golf tournaments. We have maintained some of the same tournament sites throughout our history. In addition, new tournament venues are added each year. FCWT junior golf tournaments are run by a professional staff who want to grow the game. The FCWT staff members enjoy watching these young golfers grow into the next generation of golf professionals.
Our Junior Golf Tournaments – the Early Years
One of the first FCWT junior golf champions was Jeanne Cho of Boulogne, France. In 1997, Jeanne Cho won the Girls division of the FCWT Innisbrook Junior Golf Tournament in Tampa, FL. Miss Cho posted rounds of 75-71-146. In 1998, Jeanne won the Future Collegians World Tour Jacksonville Junior Championship. She went on to be named the 1998 FCWT Player of the Year. Jeanne also played on the French National Team in 1999. She played collegiate golf at the University of Florida.
The 1998-1999 season featured winners such as Jonathan Moore, Julieta Granada, Aaron Watkins, Trent Leon, Tyler Leon, Hunter Mahan, Andy Leadbetter, Sally Shonk, and more.
The 1999-2000 season featured winners such as Tim McKenney, Brent Witcher, Romi Irons, Monique Gesualdi, Matt Fast, Kyle Metzler, Martin Piller, Jon Curran, Jeffrey Edelman and more.
Junior Golf Tournaments – Format
The goal of the FCWT Junior is to complete 36/54 holes at every junior golf tournament. Due to weather conditions, the FCWT may resort to groups of four and/or 9-hole stipulated rounds in order to complete the most golf possible at the tournament.

FCWT Junior Golf Awards
FCWT Junior Golfers continue to excel on the golf course and in the classroom. At the end of each FCWT Junior Golf Tour season we recognize our members for their outstanding accomplishments in both. Junior Golfers from each division are selected to the All-FCWT Teams. FCWT Junior Golf Members can also apply for our annual Academic Team. In addition, the FCWT staff selects one or more junior golfers to receive the For the Good of the Game award. This award recognizes the player or players who demonstrate what it really means to play “the greatest game.” Finally, the FCWT recognizes a Player of the Year. This FCWT junior golf tournament winner demonstrates their ability to take their game to the next level.
